China, early 20th century — Height 8.5 cm
A rare miniature teadust-glazed hu vase from the Republic period, finely potted and finished with a warm, speckled teadust glaze characteristic of high-quality Jingdezhen production. Despite its very small size (8.5 cm), the form remains perfectly balanced: a compressed pear-shaped body rising to a short neck, with two square lug handles applied to the shoulder.

Description
The teadust glaze, achieved through controlled firing of iron-rich slips, displays a beautiful soft matte surface with subtle tonal variation from ochre to olive-brown. The miniature scale, combined with the precision of the glaze and potting, suggests it was produced as a scholar’s object—intended for contemplation and admired for technical refinement.
