Rare 19th Century Chinese Snuff Bottle | Blue and Red Underglaze Porcelain | Figures on Horseback in Mountain Landscape | Qing Dynasty c.1880–1900 | 9 cm

Description:
A fine and rare Chinese porcelain snuff bottle from the late Qing Dynasty, dating to around 1880–1900.
The bottle is beautifully decorated underglaze in cobalt blue and iron red with a lively mountain landscape scene. It depicts two mounted riders, one carrying a bow and quiver of arrows, and another figure walking a leashed animal through a misty valley under large stylized mountain peaks. The composition captures a dynamic moment of travel or hunting — a popular theme symbolizing strength and adventure.

The cylindrical form, combined with the soft shading of the blue wash and the warm tones of the red iron-oxide pigment, reflects the delicate craftsmanship typical of the Guangxu period.
A charming and highly collectible example of 19th-century Chinese snuff bottles, showing both artistry and narrative detail.
